Lea Washington
Songwriter - Producer - Multi Instrumentalist
My name is Lea Washington, (pronounced “Lee-yah”)
Ever since I was little girl, I wrote and studied hit songs. As a multi-instrumentalist, I was accepted into Berklee College of Music at the age of 16. Receiving Berklee's first Thrive Scholarship, I graduated at the top of my major, studying Songwriting, Composing for Media, Arranging and Production. As a Writer, and Producer, I find pop music to be a comprehensive genre; Finishing an innovative Warner Music Group Billboard Hot 100 A&R workshop, allowed me to write with the best hit writers in the genre. Through pop, I can express myself and my background. Raised in a family with a rich history in the Chicago/Midwest gospel and blues revival, I infuse this sound with rock, and hip hop to make my sound tasteful for people from all walks of life.
In addition to writing songs, I also have experience writing music for media and received the Finalist Award for WGBH & PBS’ Sting Competition for Producers and Composers. I attend Harvard Law School and I'm working to promote access to law resources for entertainers of color everyone. Check out my FREE resource The Music Stop.
