Lea Washington is an outstanding songwriter, performer, producer, composer, and actress.

Armed with a degree in Writing & Production from Berklee College of Music, graduating Summa Cum Laude, the highest in her class from Berklee’s prestigious Writing & Technology Division (Alumni Quincy Jones, Alan Silvestri and Pinar Toprak of Marvel), Lea is changing the music landscape as we know it. Boasting writing credits such as Finalist for WGBH and PBS’ Inaugural Sound Logo and Sting Competition for Composers and Producers, Lea is also gifted in the law, and attends Harvard Law School. Lea spent nearly four years as a student legal adviser at Harvard Law School’s entertainment law clinic, The Recording Artists Project (RAP). As a Black, female music creator, Lea understands life as an artist and has unique insight in her perspective on music law and business matters. Through RAP (past clients include Esperanza Spalding), she has represented numerous songwriters, artists, and record labels while working with licensed attorneys and law students. Lea is on track to earn her Juris Doctor Degree. Being one of the only African American females of her entering class in Berklee’s acclaimed piano department and in her major, it is important to Lea that she maintains a standard of excellence in her academic and extracurricular work, so that she may inspire Black women like her who also dream of excelling in all facets of the entertainment industry. it is Lea’s hope that she can be a catalyst for change and increase Black female representation in the industry today especially through the fields of music production, songwriting, and law.

The arts being her passion, in addition to music she is also an accomplished actress, having already appeared several times in NBC’s hit television show, Chicago PD. Lea was also a featured actress in Oscar Nominated Director John Hancock’s The Looking Glass feature film which premiered in theaters domestically and internationally. As Donna Shepard, the lead in McWhit Productions, Seeking Counsel, Lea helped advocate and raise awareness for families impacted and recovering from substance abuse. Both of these feature films were successful on the festival circuit. In addition to her talents, Lea is also a highly decorated scholar, being the first Berklee Thrive Scholar and a member of Berklee’s Global Mentor Program sponsored by Berklee’s President (Alumni Charlie Puth). A candidate for the illustrious Fulbright Grant, fueled by her energy and charisma, Lea’s continued success in music, law and acting has no limits.
